How To Work With An Interior Designer On Your Project

Hello and a warm welcome.

I'm Kayla and I design lovely living spaces for lovely people. Let's dive into today's video:

How To Work With An Interior Designer

Today, I'm sharing with you how to work with an interior designer to ensure you have the most enjoyable and efficient interior design project.
Let's dive in.

The designer you hire should already have a very clear process on how they handle each project in their business.

Secondly, the designer you hire should have designated communication days. For example, in my business as an interior designer, I send out project updates to every client every Friday. My clients know they have the entire weekend to get back to me. On Monday, I type my replies to the Friday emails and schedule for Tuesday morning. My clients know they can expect to hear back from me on Tuesday morning if they responded to my Friday email.

My clients know they can expect to hear from me every Friday about their project and they know that if they have questions or comments they'll hear back from me on Tuesday.

So, when you work with an interior designer make sure you're both clear on how communication happens and when.

The next tip is:

Be as clear as you can with your interior designer about your desires, your budget, and what you honestly think of the designs they create. Communicate kindly and clearly. This will ensure that your designer is on the same page with you every step of the way.

Finally, understand that these projects take time - especially if it's a full design from concept to installation. Make sure you fully understand your designer's process and projected timelines. Certain pieces of furniture can take much longer than others it's really important that you have a designer who is kind, organized, communicates clearly with you, and that you know when you can expect to hear from them.

If you have any questions, leave them for me in the comments below.

If you're looking for an interior designer in Seattle or Bellevue, Washington and would like to see if I'm the right interior designer for you, I encourage you to schedule a free virtual meet and greet through the form below.
