What Do Interior Designers Charge For Their Services?
Hello and a warm welcome. I'm Kayla and I design lovely living spaces for lovely people. Today, I'm here to explain to you the different ways interior designers charge for their services. Let's dive in.
Some designers charge
1) by the hour
What's not great about this is that hours can add up and add up and clients can become shocked when they see how many hours are involved and it usually just does not create a good client relationship to be charged by the hour.
Some designers charge a
2) flat fee per room which is usually between1 and $10,000 & $20,000
That is great for luxury interior design projects but everyone would like to live in spaces that they love, not just people who have six figure living rooms. So that is where you get some designers who like myself charge a
3) flat percentage of your total budget
Here's what that looks like: I charge a flat 10% fee of the total interior design budget so that the design fee is in healthy proportion to the project without lots of hours adding up unexpectedly or design fees that seem astronomical and have no correlation to the project. Also by charging a flat 10% design fee, I'm able to work with people with all kinds of budgets. I believe everyone deserves to love the spaces they live in so by charging a flat 10% fee of their project budget leaving 90% for everything else I can work with people of different budgets and different styles.
